It is not necessary to be a trained cook to prepare a delicious meal. Even the easiest dish like a pork chop, could get rave reviews if you know how to prepare it.
There are lots of pork recipes in plenty of recipe books, but the recipe I am about to reveal takes pork chops to an entirely new level.
This recipe can serve four people - cut it n half if there's just 2 people unless you are really hungry
4 1-inch thick pork pieces two big sweet onions, Vidalia preferred, sliced very thin 1 cup heavy cream Salt & pepper
4 medium baking potatoes (If cooking is not your cup of tea then you can even obtain packaged mashed potatoes and add some butter and milk to bring them up to a good standard) milk & butter for the potatoes if you prefer real mashed potatoes.
Spinach, greens or green veggie of your choice.
Fat isn't good for this recipe, so remove the fatty chunks from the meat, Put the slivers in a heavy skillet, large enough to hold the chops and render over low heat until they shed a little fat.
Keep the flame low, put in the chops and add the sliced onions and proceed to smother the mix. Add salt and pepper and now cover up the skillet and cook for a couple of hours.
Close to one hour before serving the dish start planning the mashing and peeling of the potatoes. Do the same with the green vegetable. This is not a time-sensitive recipe so simply rest.
After the two hours has elapsed, expose the chops and introduce them to a warm 200 deg oven.
Increase heat up to medium high, add in the cream and reduce the combination until it has a sauce-like texture. Do not make it too thick.
Place a pork chop on each plate together with a generous sprinkling of mashed potatoes. Spoon the onion mixture on the meat and potatoes and offer the greens on the side, maybe with some vinegar & pepper speckled on them.
