Charlottesville VA Hotels For Vacationers

By Chris Matthews

Finding good Charlottesville VA hotels isn't so hard, but the real issue is finding the right one to match a visitor's reason for being in town. That's because the town gets a mind-bogglingly huge number of visitors, inspite of being over 70 miles from Richmond. From business travelers to parents & students and just plain tourists, there are sure to be specific hotels here that are best for each type of visitor.

In fact, let's see how it works for each type of traveler. The first ones on this list are the over half-million annual Monticello travelers in town to see Thomas Jefferson's mountain plantation home. The best choice for this group would be a hotel that's nestled down in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The second biggest group is the collection of students, teachers, visiting parents and administrators at the University of Virginia. Many of whom need temporary accommodations at affordable rates. Location-wise, the hotels mentioned above in the mountain foothills should do just fine.

Then there are the seasonal travelers driving up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway visiting Shenandoah National Park. No doubt these travelers will like the same aforementioned hotel with the mountain views. Many are also in town for events like the Virginia Film Festival and other events at the Paramount Theater. These travelers will want a place to stay that's close to the Downtown Pedestrian Mall and other local attractions.

Note that Charlottesville VA hotels are renowned for offering guests a healthy dose of old fashioned Southern hospitality. Travelers should be ready for heavy breakfasts and sumptuous dinners at restaurants onsite. Room service will obviously be available, and so will a fully kitchen for those who book into a suite.

Guests will find a free newspaper at the door each morning, and the internet is usually free too. Most every hotel will also have cable with movies and pay per view. There will be coffee makers in the room, along with an iron & board and a hairdryer.

Travelers will find outdoor pools and fitness centers for relaxing and working out, with free access to business centers in case someone wants to send out a fax, use the internet or copy documents. Every hotel also has a meeting room or two for those who need to hold a business conference or meeting. There will also be in-room amenities for business travelers like work desks to help guests continue working uninterrupted.

A visit to Charlottesville for any purpose is always going to be enjoyable and memorable. It can be made a lot more comfortable and hassle-free by choosing the right hotel in the right location. Don't worry too much about service and the food, because everyone who comes here is made to feel at home at every hotel in town.
